Lisa Townsend Company performs experimental contemporary dance that draws on raw physicality, intimate gesture, and a strong theatrical sensibility.  In collaboration with visual and theatrical artists, writers and composers, Lisa Townsend Company is committed to bringing innovative work that appeals to viewers' heart and intellect, and moves toward nourishing a deeper appreciation for the performing arts.

LTCo has been presented in New York, Los Angeles and the San Francisco Bay Area. Highlights include Joyce SoHo, St. Marks Church, Movement Research @ Judson Church, P.S. 122, Los Angeles Theatre Center, L.A.C.E., Theater Geo, ODC Theater, West Wave Dance Festival, Women’s Work Series at Venue 9, Jon Sims Dance Center, the Marin Arts Council’s Grantee Showcase at Marin Theatre Company, Dance Mission Theater, CounterPulse, Cowell Theater, and Project Artaud Theater.

The company has received support from Theatre Bay Area CA$H, the Marin Arts Council, the Zellerbach Family Fund, Creative Capital @ Headlands Center for the Arts and many Individual Donors, and is fiscally sponsored by Dancer's Group, SF.

Lisa Townsend Company was in Residence at ODC Theater in San Francisco from 2005-08.  The company premiered Virile Streak as part of this residency at ODC Theater. The evening was then co-presented with Joyce SoHo for a run of performances in NYC, 2006.

In 2007, the company collaborated with Composer/Musician Piro Patton and Visual Artist Heidi Sandvoll on Odd timesOdd times received support through the residency program at ODC & from the Zellerbach Family Foundation.

Currently LTCo is creating a new piece derived from Camus' L'Etranger, and i thought it was a nice moment & also filming their first dance short CLUTCH.
